Why should India rejoice Microsoft-Nokia takeover

Microsoft buying out Nokia was something that must not be seen as a huge surprise. It was overseen ever since Nokia declared its lag behind other players in Smartphone category. An ex- Microsoft CEO heading Nokia; Nokia launching its smart phones with Wndows operating systems were only a sublime indication towards the final take over, according to Sachin Karpe.

And, as for India, it has every reason to rejoice. With an average age of an Indian being 24, which is really young, the country will only rejoice and feel spoilt for options with latest and smartest phones. Youth is already advancing faster in being updated with latest 3G phones. In such, countries like India, which is poised to surpass US as the second largest smart phone using country after China, have a large scope for Smartphone makers, feels Sachin Karpe. There is a large market to tap through and offer. Nokia’s robust R&D specialty and Microsoft’s technology penchant together can do wonders.

While several low end smart phones keep crowding the market, there will always be a section which keeps struggling with the complications of a smart phone. To them, a simple yet a stylish smart phone will solve.
Sachin Karpe strongly feels that Nokia displayed a good example of it with their Lumia series of phones. Although they did not ship as much as they expected, but, going ahead, Microsoft’s logistic, marketing and sales should fill the remaining gap.
